Message from the President:

I cannot believe its 2008 already! But as the saying goes “time fly’s when you’re having fun”. Hope everyone had a good hunting season, there have been lots of stories passed around at the club.

We at North Florida Archers have a lot to be proud of this past year. Our range has never looked as good, nor has our membership ever been so high. NFA has participated in many community affairs this past year. The ones I'm most proud of are the work we have done with the children who have visited our fine facility. To my count I have 84 youngsters who visited the club and tried their hands at archery. I wish to thank all of those NFA members who donated their time to make this a very special time in the life of these youngsters. Hopefully we will see even greater participation this year as this is a very special event for all that are involved.

I was not very impressed with our Christmas Dinner, so this year I intend to pursue having our annual dinner hosted by Oakleaf Plantation. I recently had a catered dinner there and it was fantastic. For the ladies that got on to me about the dancing, well, they have a small dance floor for those that want to shake a leg.

This past year NFA became active in assisting Camp Blanding in developing a new and innovative training arena for Improvised Explosive Devices (IED's). John and I were invited to attend the grand opening on the behalf of NFA. I could go on about the training area they have developed. Our troops are in good hands! NFA received an award for our contribution. I have it proudly hanging in the equipment room.

On 26 February 2008, we had our annual clean up day at the facility. We had good participation despite the bad weather and the facility looks great. The club is ready for the start of the 3-D shoot season. Our first shoot will be Sunday the 3rd of February; I look forward to seeing you there.
